Rodrigue Molyneaux Estate Winery and Vineyard Takes Home Gold and Silver
2012 Merlot and 2011 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Win Accolades at SF Chronicle Competition
LIVERMORE, Calif. -January 9, 2016- Rodrigue Molyneaux Estate Winery and Vineyard (RM) won Gold for the 2012 Merlot – our first Merlot! – and Silver for our 2011 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon at the 2016 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
2012 Merlot: Our Merlot has a diverse profile of ripe black cherry and blackberry with a hint of vanilla. This is a balanced wine with notes of toasted oak, clove and under-ripe cherry on the palate. Soft tannins and acidity lend to a spicy, long finish. The Merlot grapes are from the Wente House vineyard, and the Cabernet grapes are harvested on the RM estate. $34. This wine is sold out, but RM Winery will be releasing its 2013 Merlot later in 2016. Until then, shop for our other French Bordeaux varietals- our 2012 Mont Rouge and 2012 Petit Verdot in our Shopping Cart.
2011 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon: Our Reserve Cabernet is a true expression of why we grow grapes and produce wine. Nose of dried fig and coffee. Cassis, sweet cedar, purple-black fruit, and vanilla finish. RM Estate Cabernet grapes. $42. To order the Reserve Cab, please visit our Shopping Cart.
